The trip
What is included?

Is the itinerary fixed?
No. Your skipper plans the route and each day’s activities around the weather, tides and winds, to give you the best possible experience: a range of activities, while ensuring safety and comfort for all. That means stops and activities can change. We cannot confirm the exact itinerary in advance, but you will see the best of the Whitsundays that conditions allow. Cabins and life aboard
Are the cabins too small?
They are small, like on any historic ship, but comfortable and air-conditioned, and you are outside for most of the day. Choose a private ensuite, a double or twin, or a shared cabin to suit your budget.
Is it a party boat?
No. The days are active and friendly, not rowdy. You swim, snorkel, explore and watch the sunset with people who want the same.

Who will I be sailing with?
Mostly travellers in their 20s and early 30s from around the world. Around half of our guests travel solo, so you will not be the only one.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Around half of our guests travel solo. Shared cabins are the budget choice if you are on your own.
Safety and booking
Is it safe and well run?
Yes. Solway Lass is a commercial vessel operating under Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) requirements, with a professional crew and a safety briefing at the start of your trip.
Do I need sailing experience?
